Last day of school

I hope you've enjoyed the class cleaning and talentime as much as i did! It was entertaining and i got to see the other side of some of you. :) All of you have been a great audience and since it was a success, i'll hope to organise another one and the end of the year. Receiving the prize for the best class decorations was also a great way to end the semester!
Have a good break these four weeks... :)

Daily quotes
I have this 'flip-chart' which has different meaningful quotes everyday for 365 days. I haven't been diligently flipping the chart and reading them, but today i remembered doing so.
The quote for 22nd May reads "He who plants kindness gather love."
How true. If you are kind to others, it's only natural that they love/like you. If not... it works the other way.
Have you been kind to others? :)

Results
Dear 1E4,
i hope you have survived the first day of receiving results. Are you satisfied with your marks?
Don't be too busy comparing marks, blindly doing corrections, and then putting your exam paper aside. I think it's time you seriously reflect on your performance, and think about how you can do even better the next time round.
Keep the faith. :)

Maths Mid-Year
Dear 1E4,
It's finally here. I'm as excited/nervous/anxious as you are!
Some tips for the final lap:
1) you can try new questions but do not spend too much time on that.
2) look through ALL the past corrections you've done. You can attempt to re-do it to check if you've really understood the concepts.
3) read through your textbook to refresh the basics.
4) read your notebook on thursday morning. please do not attempt anymore new questions in the morning and start panicking if you cannot solve it. it'll make you flustered and will affect your mood for the exam.
5) lastly, sleep early! the paper will be long - 2hrs. i really need you to be focused and alert throughout.
All the best!!
Regards,
Ms Huang

Hang in there!
Dear 1E4,
I hope all of you are coping well with your revisions!
I remember when I was in secondary school, I used to think that studying for examinations was really stressful and I longed to be one of the working adults who no long needs to cope with the stress of exams or neverending homework. Are you feeling this way too? If no, good. If yes, hang it there, because everything will be over in 2 weeks' time. :)
Everyone used to tell me that being a student is the most enjoyable time of your life. But when i was a student, this idea just didn't make sense to me, because it was really not easy coping with so many subjects. Actually if there were no exams, being a student IS fun, right? So why are exams so difficult?
Have you thought of why some students think it's not that difficult to pass a certain subject, whereas other students think it's really difficult? Is it all about luck and intelligence? I shall not give you the answer, because i know you can find it out yourself. :)
Now that i've experienced both student life and working life, i wouldn't compare which is better. I think what's most important is to live in the present, and enjoy it.

My first trip on the Circle Line
I was having dinner at suntec and i felt really annoyed at the thought of having to walk all the way back to City Hall to catch a train home. I was tired and wanted to get home as soon as possible.
I'm really thankful to my friend who enlightened me that there's a Promenade station along the Circle Line, which is just outside Suntec's Carrefour, which will lead me to Paya Lebar station.
I took the train from there for the very first time and in just 5-6 stops i was already at Paya Lebar. Thanks to the Circle line, we can now go to Suntec or even Bishan much faster.
Have you taken it yet? :)
